Anne Witty

TWH 2025 Teaching Assistant ( Fiction )

Anne Witty’s work as a museum curator with a maritime focus has always been interdisciplinary and intersectional, as is her writing. Her poetry and nonfiction explore the coast’s liminal spaces and meanings, history, and the personal sphere of family history. Anne has many nonfiction publication credits, including articles in Down East and Wooden Boat magazines, major permanent exhibitions at Mystic Seaport Museum and Maine Maritime Museum, and online exhibitions and articles. Her poetry has appeared in journals including The New Guard (where her piece “Contact Sheets” won the Knightville Poetry contest); Cabildo Quarterly; The Catch: Writings from Downeast Maine; and “Deep Water” in the Maine Sunday Telegram. She is a graduate of the Stonecoast MFA program, and lives, gardens, and sails in mid-coast Maine.
