Margaret Besser is an American writer and translator living in Marseille, France. She holds a BA in French from Macalester College and an MA in translation from the University of Geneva, Switzerland. Her work has appeared in The Common, The New Guard and Words Without Borders, among other places, and her translations of graphic novels—as M.B. Valente—have been published by Fantagraphics, Magnetic Press and Europe Comics. She writes about human–animal ties, interior worlds and (mis)communication across and within languages.
